(Romano’s POV)

Today was Thursday. ‘Only-a one more day til-a Friday.’ At times, teaching was ok, maybe even fun, other times it was just plain boring. Most of the kids that take my class aren’t even interested in learning Italian. There was only one student that actually loved my class. (F/n) (l/n). Her pretty face always lit up into a smile every time my class started at the end of the school day. My class was her last class.

(F/n) was a very smart student, her grades were straight A’s in every class. She was a nice, shy, quiet girl that never bothered me or disrupted class. When there was homework, she would answer the questions honestly, and tell me a bit about herself in Italian through her answers. All the other students only answered with the shortest answer they could think of.

This ragazza was also very charming and cute. Her (h/l), (h/c) hair always looked so soft and beautiful. She had innocent, attentive (e/c) eyes that stood out among all her other features. But, the thing I liked the best about her was her cute personality.

“Ciao signor Vargas.” (F/n) said quietly in a happy tone as she entered my class. “Ciao.” I replied, looking up from the stack of papers on my desk. She quickly sat down in her assigned seat and got ready for class. The rest of her senior class walked in, some talking, others messing around.

Half way through the class practicing their vocal exercises, I noticed (f/n) looking extremely tired. It looked like she was trying to stay awake, but eventually she began nodding off. I walked over to her desk and tapped her shoulder, “(F/n), wake up.” I said gently. Immediately she woke up, startled. “O-oh! S-sorry Mr. Vargas!” (F/n) apologized quietly. I looked at her, worried for a moment. Up close, she looked pale and ill. “(F/n), please-a meet me after class.” She nodded. Only ten minutes later, the bell rang.

(F/n) waited until everyone had left before approaching my desk. “(F/n), what’s-a the matter? You don’t-a look well.” I asked. She nervously looked down at her feet, avoiding eye contact. She replied, “I-I’m just tired.” “Are you sure?” “Sì.” She looked up from her feet and smiled at me with a fake smile. I let out a sigh, “Well, you can-a go now. Arrivederci.” “Arrivederci.” (F/n) grabbed her books then walked out of the classroom. I packed up my things and went home.

(Time skip to the next day)

It was finally the last hour of the day. (F/n) was in my mind, like always, except this time I was worried about her. I organized a stack of homework while I waited for (f/n) to come into class. “Umm.. Excuse me.” Someone said as they tapped on my shoulder. I looked up, but of course it wasn’t (f/n). Instead it was a tenth grader that wore lots of makeup all, a really short black skirt, and a tight fitting, white button up shirt that she had unbuttoned to show her cleavage. Girls like this disgusted me, always trying to tempt men with their bodies and use them for what they want. “What-a do you want?!” I asked in a very annoyed tone. She smiled seductively and leaned on my desk. “How about you and I meet after class to discuss some… Things.” Her hand went up and she pulled on IT….. ‘She-she-a pulled on-a my curl!!’ In anger, I slapped her hand away. “D-Don’t ever do that-a again!” I huffed angrily. She backed away, startled. But, she quickly regained her composure and with a flip of her hair, she went out the door, making sure to stick her butt out as she walked. “Disgustoso.” I whispered under my breath.

Finally, (f/n) walked in. She was later to class than normal. I observed her closely as she walked to her seat. From what I could tell, her breathing was a bit uneven and labored. She looked just as tired as yesterday, if not more so. ‘I’ll-a have to ask her what’s-a wrong after class again. But-a this time I’ll find out what’s-a really going on with-a (f/n).’ Pushing my worries aside for now, I started class as usual.

    (Small time skip)

It was almost the end of class. I was walking to (f/n)’s desk to quietly ask her to stay after class. My eyes wandered up to her face. She looked very flushed and exhausted. I was only a few steps away when suddenly she started falling out of her desk. I gasped. My arm reached out and caught her before she hit the ground. ‘She-she-a passed out! What-a do I do?’

The whole class’s attention was on (f/n) and I. Just as I was about to say something, the bell rang. ‘Well, atleast I-a don’t have to worry about my class.’ I picked up (f/n) and cradled her in my arms. ‘I-a have to get her to the nurse’s office!’ With her safely in my arms, I ran down the hall, only to stop halfway to the nurse’s office. ‘Wait a second….’ I looked down to see an exhausted (f/n) in my arms. ‘I could-a… No, no Romano! Get your-a mind out of the gutter! What-a the hell is wrong with you?!’ Now I was mentally arguing with myself.

‘Wait… The nurse might-a not be here anymore… Well, I guess I could-a take (f/n) home with-a me.. Only to-a take care of her, of course!’ I took (f/n) out to my car and gently placed her in the back seat. Then, I went back into the school to get her backpack. Once back in my car, I found her phone. ‘Oh-a crap. She has-a password!’ Surprisingly, only after a few tries I was able to guess it. I scrolled through her contacts until I found her madre’s number. “Hey mom, I’m going to be a little late coming home today.” I pressed send. Thank goodness (f/n) drives herself to and from school.

Suddenly, I realized something odd. When I was texting (f/n)’s madre, there had been no texts sent to her or received from her yet.
